Lincoln Under-13s Vs Kesteven Under-13s

Following a long lay-off during 2020/21, Lincoln's junior sides finally got their contact games up and running again with the Under-13s taking on local rivals Kesteven.
What has always been a billed as a highly contested fixture, the game proved to be a perfect start to the end of season run in of games as Lincoln won by ten tries to four.
Lincoln were on the front foot quickly and dominated the play during the first half of the game. Using power plays through the middle before spreading wide to their fast and skilful wingers, Lincoln soon went six tries up without reply.
Kesteven came into their own in the start of the second half running in four tries to reduce the deficit. However, Lincoln soon stepped things up again in the final quarter to finish the game strongly.
The Under-13s have placed a lot of emphasis on fitness during the lockdown through HITT sessions on the Common, and Zoom sessions at home, and both clearly showing their worth.
Whilst the lads performed superbly as a team, Harry Briggs had a standout performance at scrum-half. He delivered sniping runs and stopped the largest of Kesteven's players in their tracks, duly earning him the the man-of-the-match award from both the coaches and his team-mates.
Lincoln's Under-13s will return to action with an away match against Market Rasen on Sunday, May 9.
