Lincoln's 3rd XV put in a good away peformance, but ultimately fitness and experience told as Boston's second-half comeback saw the visitors defeated 45-25.

Lincoln opened the scoring from a strong lineout after just 10 minutes. After winning the ball Jacob Taylor offloaded the ball to Darren Rorie who powered his way over for a try.

Provider then turned scorer as Taylor, who has been part of the club since he was 11-years-old, ran onto an excellent inside ball from Jose Mari Idarreta. Taylor ran into the oppositon 22 and finished the try in true forward's style, carrying Boston's full-back over his own try line to dot the ball down.

Will Hewing scored his first try for the club after quick ball through the hands on the blindside just minutes later. Hewing finished the move off by side-stepping the last defender to dive over for a try to give Lincoln a 15-0 lead.

Boston crossed for two converted tries to reduce the deficit to just one point before Lincoln resumed control of the match.

Once again Lincoln impressed with a move through the hands on the blindside before Kodi Strand grubber kicked the ball past the winger. He then nudged it past another two defenders before going over for a try to give Lincoln a 20-14 lead going in at the break.

Boston edged in front with a converted try within three minutes of the restart, but Lincoln soon hit back. Centre Jack Miles ran a hard line from the back off a ruck before bummping off three players to dot the ball down for a try and swing the score back in the visitors' favour.

Boston scored two tries in three minutes to edge back in front in a hard-fought game between the Lincolnshire sides.

The hosts made sure of their victory by scoring a further two tries, on of which was converted, in the final 10 minutes of the match.

After the match, Lincoln's 3rd XV captain Adam Kelleher said: "It was a good performance, but lack of fitness and experience told as the game progressed.

"I am looking forward to the season ahead with plenty to work on."
