The hard work of volunteers behind the scenes makes a big difference to the progress at Lincoln Rugby Club, including that of chairwoman Jodie Hill who was recently recognised with an award by the Rugby Football Union.
Jodie Hill, who also plays second row for Lincoln Ladies, was recently named as the RFU's Above and Beyond Volunteer of the Year.
This year the awards recognised and celebrated volunteers across rugby for their achievements and efforts over the past 12 months, both on and off the field.
Jodie continues to do the club proud and she was among the national finalists who attended the awards ceremony at Twickenham at the weekend.
A delighted Jodie said: “I am lost for words winning Rugby Football Union’s Above and Beyond Volunteer of the Year, it means the world to be recognised in this way and to see Lincoln Rugby Football club recognised nationally.
“I want to say thank you to everyone who went to the effort to nominate me and also, a big thank you to all of my fellow volunteers, keep up the good work.”
Lincoln's Director of Rugby Dougie Gordon said: "She is an example to everyone in sacrifice for what she does at the club. Good on the pitch and great off it."
